AWDC data show that India remains the largest manufacturing center, which in 2012 imported 151.9 million carats of rough diamonds. At the same time Antwerp, undoubtedly, remains the main world center of trade in rough diamonds. In 2012, 76.5 million carats of diamonds were imported to Antwerp, and exports amounted to 104.4 million carats of rough stones.
In comparison, Antwerp's direct competitors - Dubai and Tel Aviv - together imported 76.5 million carats of diamonds, and exported 74.2 million carats of rough diamonds.
