An orange diamond weighing almost 15 carats will be auctioned on November 12 at Christie's auction in Geneva, European media reported.
This is the largest of all previously submitted for sale polished stones of such characteristics. It was mined in South Africa and has the shape of an almond nut. The auction house hopes to help out for selling a diamond record $ 17-20 million.
Previously, Christie's exhibited orange diamonds, in weight not exceeding six carats.
Among other jewelry at the auction will be presented a necklace from Cartier with diamonds and emeralds, estimated value of $ 10.5 million, as well as emerald necklace from Van Cleef & Arpels.
