Azerbaijan in January-March 2014 increased gold production by 31.86% compared to the same period last year - up to 351.8 kg; Silver production was reduced by 41.54% to 120.9 kg, the state statistics committee said last week, according to the PRIME data.
Only in March, 147.4 kg of gold and 62.7 kg of silver were mined, in February - 103.9 kg of gold and 32.2 kg of silver, in January - 100.5 kg and 26 kg, respectively.
As reported, in Azerbaijan for the entire 2013 was received 1 619 kg of gold - 3.6% more than in 2012, silver production increased by 0.7% to 630 kg.
In 2012, about 1.563 tons of gold was mined in Azerbaijan - 12% less than in 2011.
Gold mining in the country has been carried out since 2009, the annual production potential of Azerbaijan is estimated at 10-15 tons of precious metal.
