The opening of the forum was preceded by a series of preliminary consultations with stakeholders over the past six months. More than 20 participants of the forum from the main industry associations, as well as members of the Council and other companies of the diamond and jewelry sectors were involved in the work of the forum.
The Constituent Meeting in Mumbai summed up a number of valuable perspectives for the successful development of the RJC in India.
Two important key outcomes of the meeting for the Council were the intention to focus on marketing for companies (B2B) and the creation of internal engines for the distribution of certification.
"RJC sums up this productive week with a tangible portfolio of information and feedback on priority aspects in the context of developing and strengthening the Council in the Indian market. In the short term, in 2014, we will provide increased attention and service to existing and new members of our organization. We look forward to the return to the Indian International Jewelry Fair in July with a new level of understanding of our interaction and development strategy in India, "said Catherine Sproule, RJC's interim CEO.
