There are reports that Zimbabwe received proceeds from diamonds sold in Dubai, about 30 days after the tender, and this period is called "too long for such transactions."
The Herald reports that this delay caused damage to Harare and the work of diamond companies, and justifies the calls in the country for local auctions.
Zimbabwe sold 380,626.24 carats at the Dubai Diamond Exchange Center, earning $ 29.3 million.
The daily said that its research showed that Global Diamond Tenders, the auction organizer, had difficulty transferring money to Zimbabwe.
Walter Chidhakwa, Minister of Mining, confirmed the delay in receiving funds.
"They had to transfer money before Easter; maybe this delay arose because of the ineffectiveness of the organizer, "he said.
"But I understand that the organizer has already taken the money from the buyers and is now translating them."
Mark Mabhudhu (Mark Mabhudhu), acting Chief Executive Officer of Marange Resources, also complained about the delay, saying that they were not aware of the logistical problems of the organizer.
