China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) plans to start a search for diamonds in Angola after signing a memorandum of intent with Angolan diamond company Empresa Nacional de Diamantes de Angola (Endiama).
The parties to the agreement will unite their efforts and will search for and explore diamonds in the southern part of Angola in order to build up the country's resource base.
At present, both companies are working on the preparation of the text of the final bilateral agreement.
The Macauhub portal quoted the statement of António Carlos Sumbula, the chairman of Endiama, that the Chinese company will identify and analyze underground anomalies, and in later stages conduct trial drilling.
