In celebration of the 50th anniversary of independence of Botswana officials of the public sector entity of the country and De Beers tour the United States in search of investments in strategic sectors of the Botswana economy, including the mining industry.
Officials from the Botswana Development Corporation (Botswana Development Corporation) and the Ministry of the country's raw materials, energy and water are part of a joint group of participants of the visit, which began with a symposium in New York on 1 June. This was followed by a meeting in San Francisco on June 7. The next meeting is scheduled in Chicago on June 9 with the aim to promote Botswana as a destination for investment.
At the request of De Beers, Botswana consistently ranked Transparency International as the least corrupt country in Africa.
"The successful movement of international trade operations from London to Gaborone (2013) demonstrates the ease of doing business in Botswana" - said Gareth Mostyn (Gareth Mostyn), Executive Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs of the company De Beers.
