Gevorgyan said that the AJA is currently implementing a program, at the first stage of which it is planned to create 1000-1500 jobs in Armenia in the sphere of jewelry business by attracting foreign jewelry companies to Armenia.
The signed cooperation agreement provides for the facilitation of the parties in the organization of the training process, the introduction of new technologies and the replenishment of the material and technical base in vocational training institutions, as well as in strengthening the professional capabilities of jewelry masters through retraining, the organization of training practices, and the involvement of students in international jewelry exhibitions.
The share of Armenian jewelers is about 6-8% of world jewelry. The volume of jewelry production in January-May 2013 in Armenia totaled 7.8 billion drams ($ 19 million), an increase of 24.1% compared to the same period of 2012.
