Speaking at the opening of this exhibition, Rajiv Shukla, Member of the Indian Parliament, praised the Indian jewelry industry for its contribution to the country's economic growth, as well as the initiatives of the Indian Council for the Promotion of the Export of Gemstones and Jewelry (Gem and Jewelery Export Promotion Council, GJEPC) in support of the industry. Vipul Shah, chairman of the GJEPC, spoke about the efforts of the Indian jewelry industry and how it grew, step by step gaining strength, over the past few years.
The exhibition started with a solemn presentation called "Beti" ("Favorite") from the leading jewelry brands of India Nakshatra, D'damas, Gili, Asmi of Gitanjali. "Beti" is a joint initiative of Gitanjali Group and public figure Anu Ranjan (Anu Ranjan). This initiative is aimed at empowering women, as well as helping those affected by acid attacks and other atrocities.
After the introduction of Beti, impressive presentations were made by the companies Apala by Sumit and Agni Jewels, prepared jointly with Swarvoski, Shobha Shringar Jewellers, Auro Gold, Gehna and Nirav Modi.
Indian jewelry lovers have a whole week ahead, during which they will be able to see a huge selection of jewelry.
