Lucara Diamond said that May 11 will hold its first in this year's tender of diamonds of exceptional size. The auction will take place from May 3 until the final date of sale.
In a brief statement Lucara email sent to Rough & Polished, it said that as part of the auction the buyer will represent at least 13 exceptional diamonds, including the "magnificent" stone weighing 374 carats type IIa, as well as three or four stones larger than 100 carats .
It is expected that the total diamond weight for the 11th tender Lucara diamonds of exceptional size was over 1,300 carats, the report said.
Lucara has operations in Botswana in which a stone weighing 1109 carats, was discovered in 2015.
