The recent auction of jewelry, organized by the auction house Bonhams in New York, collected revenue of about $ 6.3 million, while 85% of the lots were sold. The most expensive lot at the end of the auction was a ring with diamonds and Kashmir sapphire oval-cut 5.85 carats, which went under the hammer for $ 461,000, Rapaport reports. Susan Abeles, head of jewelry at Bonhams in the US, said: "We are very pleased with the results of the trades on October 17, which demonstrated the high interest of market participants in sapphires of various origins."
