Diamantaires from Surat and Saurashtra in the state of Gujarat open diamond factories in Jalore of Sirohi, Banswara and other villages of Rajdan, located in the immediate vicinity of the border of Gujarat, hiring hundreds of skilled cutters .
Two years ago, about 35,000 of the 125,000 highly skilled diamond workers in Rajasthan returned to their native villages, because they could not afford to live in Surat. To solve this problem, some diamantaires decided to establish diamond production enterprises in the homeland of these workers.
It is reported that cutters from Rajasthan have the skill of cutting both small and large diamonds. Many companies open units in Rajasthan, seeking to expand their activities beyond Gujdarat, in addition, it is expected that Rajasthan will be the next major center for diamond polishing and polishing in India.
