The Council for Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC) reported that the largest specialized jewelry retailer in the US and UK Signet Jewelers Ltd successfully passed the re-certification and confirmed compliance with the ethical, social and environmental standards established by the certification system of RJC members.
"The Council congratulates Signet Jewelers on re-certification. As one of the founding members of RJC, this company is an integral part of the success of our organization. Their supportive voice and influence in all parts of the supply chain through their own example allowed us to raise interest in RJC in both developed and emerging markets, "said Catherine Sproule, interim CEO of the board.
"We are pleased that Signet once again demonstrated its adherence to the high standards of RJC, having received re-certification. Corporate social responsibility is the strategic pillar of our company, and we are committed to continually improving and strengthening the integrity of the jewelry supply chain, "said Signet Jewelers CEO Mike Barnes. "That's why we recently explained to our suppliers that we want them to follow our example and subsequently become certified members of RJC.
