Brilliant pear-shaped cut bright orange can go under the hammer at a price of about $ 20 million, or $ 1.3 million per carat, at Christie's auction in November, reports Bloomberg.
The auction house will put up for sale a diamond weighing 14.82 carats, which is the largest of all known in the world of orange diamonds. The auction will be held on November 12 in Geneva. The next day, another auction house - Sotheby's - will hold trades at which a bright pink diamond will be presented, the value of which is estimated at $ 60 million. The
diamond "The Orange" is the world's largest fantasy orange diamond. Pre-auction evaluation of this stone is $ 17-20 million.
The last time an orange diamond of such characteristics appeared at an auction in 1997. A 5.54 carat diamond named The Pumpkin Diamond was sold at Sotheby's for $ 1.3 million, and its buyer was Ronald Winston, the son of the founder of Harry Winston.
