The Indian Gem and Jewelery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) held an award ceremony for the winners of the Indian Gem & Jewelery Awards on October 5.
The solemn ceremony was attended by Shri Kapil Sibal, Honorary Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Legislation and Justice, and Sri K. Kh. Shri, KH Muniyappa, Honorary Minister for Small and Medium Enterprises under the Government of India.
The GJEPC Award, which is awarded solely to the members of the Council, is designed to encourage the outstanding performance of gemstone and jewelry exporters, and winners are determined on the basis of export performance, value added, job creation and investment in research and development for the fiscal year.
Following the results of the 2012-13 financial year, the winners in the category "Finished and polished diamonds" in the segment of large companies were Kiran Gems Pvt Ltd, Dharmanandan Diamonds Private Limited and Shree Ramkrishna Exports Private Limited. In the segment of medium-sized companies, the winners are Narola Gems and Pansuriya Impex, in segment of small companies
